Description
This sundial, located approximately 5 metres south of the Church of Saint Michael, dates back to 1773 and is made of dressed red sandstone. It features a pair of circular steps and a chamfered circular base, leading to a tapered shaft with a square base and an octagonal neck. The dial plate is lumpy and square, equipped with a gnomon, and is inscribed with "1773/J : Voin" (though part of the inscription was illegible during the survey in March 1986). It is possible that the dial plate is a later addition to an earlier sundial. The circular steps may also be remnants of a former churchyard cross.
