Description
The Chapel Shaft Chimney, built around 1860 to 1870, is located at Snailbeach Lead Mine in Worthen. It is constructed of reddish-brown brick and stands on a chamfered plinth with stone capping. The chimney has a square section that tapers towards the top. It is associated with the Chapel Shaft, which was sunk in 1859 on land owned by the Earl of Tankerville.
