Description

Lower Norncott Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the 18th century and 19th century, with an earlier core. It is constructed of rubble stone and features plain-tile roofs. The building has integral brick gable-end chimneys and an integral eaves brick chimney on the rear extension.

The exterior is three storeys high with a three-window front range. On the first floor, there is a central two-light mullioned timber casement flanked by two similar three-light casements, all featuring leaded lights and segmental arches. The ground floor has two similar three-light windows on either side of a central glazed panelled door with four lights, which is sheltered by a projecting cantilevered gabled slate canopy. The second floor has two casements, one of which has leaded lights. There are two stone buttresses located between the windows and the door on the ground floor. At the rear, there is a two-storey wing with a rear gable that has a three-light casement, and the return side features a two-light first-floor casement above the rear back door. The side and gable-end ground floors are partly obscured by tiled outshuts. The interior has not been inspected.
