Description
This building is a barn and cowhouse located to the north-east of Upper Norncott Farmhouse, dating from the 17th and 18th centuries. It features a weatherboarded timber frame, with some sections covered in corrugated sheets, all resting on a stone rubble plinth. The roof is made of corrugated iron sheets.
The exterior consists of a continuous range with six bays, each having simple boarded door openings. There are gable-end pitching holes visible.
Inside, the barn has a single trenched purlin roof with a diagonally-set ridge. The bays at each end are closed off with square-framed truss walls. The roof trusses typically include collars and twin vertical struts, with some trusses featuring cambered tie beams. Additionally, there are two more twin raking-strut trusses present.
