Description

The forecourt wall, located approximately 32 metres southeast of Whitton Hall, dates from the early 18th century. It is constructed of red brick with sandstone coping and measures about 30 metres in length and one metre in height. The wall features square intermediate piers and ramps up to square end piers. At each end, there are probably late 19th century or early 20th century square wooden gate posts with chamfered corners and moulded tops. This wall encloses the south side of the forecourt to Whitton Hall and has an earth bank built up behind it.
