L-shaped barn approx. 30m north of Walford Hall

Barn. Late C17 with later additions and alterations. Timber-framed with red brick infill on red sandstone block plinth, partly weatherboarded to east range and partly rebuilt in mid-C19 red brick to north range; machine tile roof. L-plan around north and east sides of farmyard. Framing: north range has square panels, three from cill to wall-plate with short straight tension braces. East range has slightly irregular square and rectangular panels, five from cill to wall-plate with long straight tension braces. Tall vertical posts to back wall with long straight tension braces. Stable door to left and segmental-headed window to right of centre to north range and segmental-headed stable door in angle with east range. This has scattered doorways and eaves hatches with infilled threshing entrance to left of centre. INTERIOR. Both ranges have single-purlin roofs with short straight wind braces and mixture of queen-post and queen-strut trusses, in five bays to east range with king struts to gable ends and 'double' truss to first truss from north. North range has V- struts from collar to gable end.
