Description

This is an early 19th-century farmhouse constructed of painted brick with a brick dentil eaves course and a slate hipped roof. It features brick axial stacks. The house has a single-depth plan, with rooms on either side of a central stairhall; the right-hand room extends the full depth of the building, while the left-hand room, which is shallower, has a service wing behind it. This service wing has been extended into a rear outbuilding.

The symmetrical south front has three bays and three storeys. It contains 16-pane sash windows, and 4:4-pane sashes on the second floor, all set within openings with flat brick arches and plain cills. A fielded and flush-panelled door, with glazed upper panels, is set within a moulded architrave and sheltered by a late 19th or early 20th-century open wooden gabled porch. Two 16-pane sashes are visible on the east side. The rear (north) elevation has a three-storey wing on the right, with casement windows. A single-storey outbuilding with a tiled roof has been incorporated into the rear wing.

Inside, the ground floor left room has chamfered ceiling beams; both ground floor rooms contain 20th-century chimneypieces. A good quality, open-well staircase rises to the attic, with a moulded string and handrail, stick balusters, and column newels.
