Description

Sutton Court Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the 16th and 17th centuries. It features a timber-frame structure with plaster on a rubble plinth and has a plain tile roof. The front has a large rubble external stack with a brick chimney at the center, and a smaller similar stack to the right.

The exterior is two storeys high and has a three-window range. The windows are 20th-century three-light casements in the gables, with a central 19th-century casement located under a gable dormer. The central entrance features a 19th-century glazed and panelled door set within a 20th-century timber-framed gable porch. To the right, there is a restored 19th-century bay window under a jetty, which is set in close-studding and has diagonal studding in the gable. To the left, there is a restored three-light casement window set in box-framing with jowled studs. The right side of the building has close-studding.

At the rear, there is a rubble central range with a jettied first floor on the right-hand advanced gable, featuring 19th and 20th-century lights and casements. The left wing is made of rubble and has a 20th-century brick ridge stack, steps leading to a 19th-century battened plank door, and a fixed light with a central wood mullion to the left, above a 19th-century two-light casement and a 20th-century three-light casement. The interior has not been inspected.
