Description

Nos 24 and 25 on Shrewsbury Road are a house and an attached barn, now converted into two houses. They date from the late 17th century and early 19th century, with some alterations made in the late 19th century. The buildings are timber framed with painted brick-nogging and feature plain tile and slate roofs. They have a single ridge and a single gable stack.

The structure is two stories high and consists of four bays. The two bays on the left are part of the original late 17th century house, which was raised in the early 19th century. This section has three two-light casement windows on the ground floor and three more two-light casements above the former wall plate. The construction includes substantial box framing with braces.

To the right is the former barn range, which was raised in the late 19th century. This part has a double two-light casement window and a single two-light casement window, with two gabled dormers above, each containing a two-light casement. The rear of the building has various late 19th century lean-to additions. Inside, the timber framing is largely exposed.
