Description
This is one of a pair of gate piers located about 30 yards west of Jockey. The gate pier dates from the early 19th century and is made of cast iron. It has a square section with two recessed panels on each face, rising to a frieze and a moulded cornice topped with a moulded capping and a tall bird-finial. This gate pier is part of a group that includes the opposite gate pier and nearby gates, gate piers, and railings leading to the north lodge of Lyston House. Jockey itself is not included in this listing.
