Description
This listing describes a pair of gate piers with an additional pier, located at the carriage sweep leading to Oakfield, dating from around 1833 to 1850. The piers are made of stucco over brick and are identical in design. Each pier features a shaped plinth and square base, with shafts that have indented panels. They also include a band, frieze, and cornice topped with 'cross-gabled' caps. The piers stand approximately 2 meters high and are an integral part of a group of original piers that contribute to the significant streetscape feature in The Park.
