Description
The cider house and attached granary, located about 15 yards north of Upper Wolton Farmhouse, likely date from the 18th century. The cider house features a timber frame with weatherboarding, while the granary is constructed from sandstone rubble, and both buildings have tiled roofs. They are arranged in a rectangular end-on-end plan aligned north to south, with the granary having two levels. On the east elevation, the granary has a central opening leading to the upper level. The cider house, attached to the right, has a lower roof that is more steeply pitched, with an entry on the left side and a lean-to sandstone rubble extension on the right. Inside the cider house, there is a cider mill and a cider press. Upper Wolton Farmhouse is not included in this listing.
