Description
Little Bryalls is a house, probably from the 17th century, that was undergoing restoration in March 1985. It features a timber frame with a sandstone plinth, and a combination of brick and wattle-and-daub infill, topped with a slate roof. The building has an L-shaped plan with the main entrance on the south side and an additional entrance on the east. To the west, there is a large lateral stack and a bread oven. The house is single storey with an attic on the west side, while the ground level falls to the east, creating a basement in the cross-wing. The east front has a gable end of the wing on the left, with an outshut to the right. There are blocked openings in the gable and on the first floor, a ledged door leading to the basement, and another doorway and window opening to the right in the outshut. The framing appears to be fairly complete, showing three square panels from the sill to the wall-plate, and continuous weatherings at the tie-beam and window lintel levels on the east gable end. The interior is not accessible.
