Description
Ringfield is a house with a core dating from the 17th century, which was remodeled in the 18th century and has mid-19th century alterations. It features part timber framing with brick infill, and the exterior is refaced with coursed and squared sandstone rubble. The house has a slate roof and brick chimney stacks made of sandstone. It has a single depth plan that is aligned north to south, with a central projection to the west. The main entrance is located on the west side, and there are gable end stacks as well as a rear lateral stack. The building is two stories high with an attic and has raised verges.
On the west front, there are two sets of windows with flat arches and glazing bar sashes, arranged in a pattern of 2:1:1. The central window is located in the forward gabled projection and features a semi-circular-headed window with a decorative glazing bar design in the gable. The porch, situated in the left angle formed by the forward projection, has a cornice and a half-glazed door. There are also later 19th century single-storey service additions to the south. The date "I K E 1707" is inscribed in the kneeler of the verge on the south gable. The interior has not been inspected.
