Description

Manor Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the 17th century, with alterations and additions made in the mid-19th century and 20th century. It features a timber frame with a sandstone plinth, sections of painted brick, and wattle-and-daub infill, along with later brick additions and a tiled roof. Originally designed in an L-shape, the house faces south, with later extensions to the east. The entrance is now located in these later additions, while the original house has a west gable end stack and an east lateral stack, with an additional stack at the rear of the east addition.

The south front has a single storey and attic on the left wing, while the rest of the building is two storeys high, with a single-storey outshut beside the cross-wing, which has a gable end facing south. Features include a 2-light casement window in a gabled dormer on the left, a 3-light casement window on the ground floor, a similar window in the gable end of the cross-wing, and a 2-light casement window in a half-dormer to the right. There is also a later extension with a similar window featuring a segmental head on the ground floor, and the entrance is through the outshut, which has a ledged door. The framing of the original 17th-century house is mostly intact, although it has been refaced and partly underbuilt with brick, originally consisting of three and four square panels from the sill to the wall-plate, with two struts supporting the collar in the south gable. The interior has not been inspected.
