Description

Bark Cottage is a house dating from the 17th century, with later additions in the 20th century. It is timber-framed with painted brick infill between the framing, a sandstone plinth, and a tiled roof, featuring a sandstone stack with a brick shaft. The house has two framed bays aligned east to west, facing north, with an east gable end stack. The entrance is now located through 20th-century additions to the rear. The cottage is single-storey with an attic, featuring two gabled dormers containing 3-light casement windows. Two 20th-century canted windows with glazing bar casements are on the ground floor. The timber framing is largely complete, with three square panels extending from the sill to the wall-plate.
