Description
The James and Mary Williams monument is a pedestal tomb located about 15 yards south of the south window of the chancel of the Church of St George. It dates from 1822 and is made of finely cut sandstone. The monument features a moulded vermiculated base, secondary capping, and a bottom zone of the pedestal, topped with an ogee-shaped finial. The inscription panels are contrastingly austere and undecorated. This monument is part of a close group with the Butt, Harris, and Mailes monuments.
