Description
This is an outbuilding, now used as an office, located about 5 yards south of Elton Hall. It dates from the mid-18th century and was restored in the late 20th century. The structure is made of handmade brick and features a plain tiled roof with gable-end parapets and kneelers. It has a small rectangular single-bay plan and stands two storeys high, with a three-course band between the storeys.
On the west front gable end, there are two single-light leaded casements on both the ground and first floors, each with cambered heads. The rear gable end features a 2-light ground floor Gothick style casement with a cambered head, a 2-light first floor casement with a cambered head, and a late 20th-century Gothick half-glazed door. Additionally, there are two blind doorways with cambered heads on the north side. The building is situated between Elton Hall and the Church of St Mary, contributing to its group value.
