Description

65 and 67 Edgar Street are houses that have been converted into flats, dating from the early 19th century. They are constructed of brick and feature a hipped Welsh slate roof, with two brick stacks at the front and one at the rear. The buildings are symmetrical, standing three storeys high with a cellar and a four-window range, displaying 6/6 sash windows that have stone sills and painted reveals, all set under segmental arches.

No. 65 has a 20th-century staircase wing on its left side, while No. 67 boasts a flat portico supported by fluted columns on its right side, which has a blocked round-headed opening above it and a 1/1 sash window in the right-hand recess on the first floor.

Inside No. 67, there is a dogleg staircase with stick balusters, turned newels, and a swan-neck rail. The second floor features architraves around doors and windows, nine four-panel doors, two two-panel doors, a mutilated 20th-century fireplace, and two 19th-century fireplaces. On the first floor, there is one two-panel door, four six-panel doors, folding partition doors, architraves, a mutilated 20th-century fireplace, two alcoves with beaded architraves, and a picture rail. The ground floor includes two alcoves with beaded architraves, skirtings, a picture rail, wall cupboards, six-panel doors with architraves, a four-panel door, a fireplace with a tiled frieze, and an entrance door with an overlight.

In No. 65, there is a 19th-century dogleg staircase with stick balusters, a swan-neck rail, and turned newels leading from the first to the second floor. The second floor contains three four-panel doors, while the first floor has two door architraves.
