Description

This is a 17th-century building, largely refaced in the 18th century using brick and now colourwashed. It has a tiled roof and a high parapet with a heavy brick cornice. The building is three stories high with four windows. The windows are sash windows with glazing bars, projecting sills, and keyblocks within segmental brick arches. The top-floor sashes have thick glazing bars, and a small balcony with low iron railings is located at the first floor. A rainwater pipe with an ornamental head and bands is present, potentially reused from an earlier building. A projecting square shop window with a Victorian cornice and fascia sits above a round-headed doorway on the right-hand side, both featuring keyblocks and imposts. A brick wing at the rear likely dates to the late 17th century. Inside the front building, there is an early 18th-century staircase with turned balusters. The building forms a notable group with other listed buildings on the east side of High Street.
