Description

No. 9 High Street is a late 16th-century building that features a timber frame with plastered panels, as the original stucco has been removed. The structure stands three storeys high and has two sash windows with glazing bars. The ground floor has a large modern shop front with a high fascia. The roof is tiled and has gabled ends. At the rear, there are two gables adorned with ornamental bargeboards and close-set studding. The rear wing showcases exposed timber framing and includes some late 16th-century panelling, as well as an early 18th-century staircase with turned balusters. This building is part of a group that includes the Market House and other listed buildings on the east side of High Street.
