Description
This is a group of four chest tombs located approximately one metre from the south wall of the Church of St Clodock. They date from the late 18th century and early 19th century and are made of sandstone ashlar with a rectangular plan.
The Jones memorial, dated 1797, is positioned against the church wall and features fluted pilasters on either side of the inscription panel, topped with a shaped capping. The Merrick memorial, from 1841, has corner balusters that flank a fielded inscription panel, also with shaped capping. The Pritchard memorial, dated 1793, is flanked by balusters on either side of its inscription panel. There is also a defaced tomb from the early 19th century, which includes corner pilasters and is included for its group value.
