2/134 Animal shelter about 60 m south-east of Langstone Court

GV II

Animal shelter. Late C19. Coursed and squared sandstone rubble with ashlar quoins, slate lean-to roof. Two-bay crenellated outbuilding presenting a blank face to Langstone Court (qv) and sloping verges to each end and look- ing rather like a squash court. Open to south side with two doorways and wide rectangular ashlar pier. Short baffle wall also crenellated, angled from south-east corner. This building is set in the park of Langstone Court and may have been originally intended as a deer shelter; it now serves cattle.
