6/116 Barn about 40 yards east of Trippenkennett (formerly listed as Barn at Trippenkennett to south of house)

Barn. Probably C18 to early C19. Timber-frame extended in sandstone rubble, weatherboards and corrugated iron north gable with corrugated iron roof. About eight structural bays aligned roughly north-west/south- east. South-west elevation has high rubble plinth to left and centre above which is respectively corrugated iron and weatherboarding; the right hand side is masked by a late C20 outbuilding set at right angles (not included); the south-east gable has two rows of three vent slits below eaves level and two vent slits in the gable top. Interior has timber-framed side walls, two unequal panels high from the plinth to wall-plate; trusses are triple-angle struts, raking struts from ties to principals, with the former south-east end wall, now two bays in from the present end wall, having three vertical struts from tie to collar; formerly there were two threshing floors, one in the third bay from the north-west; the other in the second bay from the south-east.
