Description
The Hodge Monument is a chest tomb located about 40 yards south of the east end of the south aisle of the Church of St George. It commemorates Richard Hodge, who died in 1822. The tomb is made of finely cut sandstone and features a moulded base and capping. It has fluted and acanthus decoration on the corner balusters and fluted surrounds on the side panels. This monument is one of a pair of chest tombs, the other being for the Reverend R ?.
