Description

This barn, located about 25 yards north-west of Abbot's Place, is likely from the early 19th century. It features a timber frame with brick infill and a tiled roof. The structure has three bays that are aligned roughly east to west. There are full-height opposing doors leading to the threshing floor, and the brick infill includes lozenge-pattern ventilator holes. Inside, the barn has pegged raking struts that connect the ties to the principals on either side of the threshing floor. This barn is a late but complete example of the timber-frame tradition and is included for its group value.
