Description
The cider mill and cowhouse, located about 15 metres north of Church House, dates from the 17th century and was raised in the early 19th century. It features a timber-frame construction with some woven infill, covered in weatherboarding, and topped with a slate roof. The building consists of six framed bays aligned north to south, with the cider mill occupying two bays at the southern end. On the farmyard side, there are three loft doors above five entrances, each fitted with ledged and boarded doors. The ground floor of the southern gable is open. The framing originally consisted of three square panels high, which were raised by one panel in the 19th century, while the old trusses were left in place. Each truss has two raking struts, except for those at the gable ends, which feature three struts to the collar and V-struts in the apex.
