Description
This building is a barn and cowhouse located about 155 metres south of Trenant Farmhouse, dating from the late 17th century to early 18th century. It features a timber frame set on a high rubble plinth and is weatherboarded, with a stone slate roof. The structure consists of four framed bays, with the two northern bays serving as a cowhouse and the southern two bays as a barn, including a threshing floor in the northern bay. The cowhouse is two storeys tall, with a loft above. There is a loft door at the front above a wide entry to the cowhouse, and a cart entry to the barn is positioned to the right of the centre. The framing includes two square panels high, and the trusses have three queen struts to the collar, along with V-struts added in the apex of the south gable. The north gable is made of rubble and features a built-in truss with two raking struts.
