Description

KINGS CAPLE CP - SO 52 NE 3/37 Lower Penalt GV II Farmhouse. C18, altered late C19 and C20. Sandstone rubble plinth, brick, hipped slate roof. Rectangular plan facing north-east, formerly with left of centre entrance, end stacks. Three storeys and basement with basement section part of earlier house, dentilled eaves cornice. Four windows, 2-light casements to upper floor, one 3-light to left and two 3-light windows to right of former doorway with semi-circular shaped head, now 2-light window. Square-headed stone doorway to basement to right. This house occupies an elevated position at right angles to the lane and flanked by two barns (qv).
