Description
No. 23 Bridge Street is a house dating from the 17th century, which was refronted in the 20th century. It is built of brick and features a composite tile roof with a brick ridge stack. The building stands three storeys high and has a two-window range, with early 19th century 6/6 sash windows under concrete lintels and 20th century 3/3 sashes. The central entrance consists of a 6-fielded-panel door set in a beaded frame, flanked by 18th century 6/6 sashes. The returned sides reveal a 17th century timber-frame and plaster gable, although the front roof pitch has been altered. The rear of the house is roughcast with scattered fenestration. The interior has not been inspected, but it is noted to retain timber-framing.
