Description

This barn, located about 20 yards north-east of Garway Court, dates from 1739, as indicated by the date next to the owl hole in the east gable. It is constructed of sandstone rubble and features a roof made of corrugated iron and Welsh slate. The barn has five bays that are aligned roughly east to west, with opposed cart entries in the second bay from the west. The north elevation includes eight loops to the left and two to the right of the cart entry, while the west gable has seven loops, with the top loop containing an owl hole. Inside, there are collar trusses. Attached to the right of the south cart entry is a cow-cot that consists of three bays, divided by two undulating beams that support parallel struts leading to the rafters. This barn is included for its group value as a dated example of its type.
