Description
The Tank House is a house dating from the late 16th century, with 20th-century alterations. It features close-studded and ornamental timber-framing, painted brick, and wattle-and-daub infill on a sandstone rubble plinth, topped with a 20th-century tiled roof. The building has an L-plan layout, with wings aligned north-west/south-east and north-east/south-west. The entrance is located on the south-east side, and there is an end stack on the north-east. The north-east wing is a single storey with an attic, which includes a large 20th-century gabled dormer featuring a three-light 20th-century window, a 20th-century glazed door, and two multi-pane casement windows on the ground floor to the right. The two-storey cross-wing has a gable end on the left, with an upper jettied floor supported by a moulded bressummer and curved brackets, and pendants at each end. There is a four-light multi-paned casement window on the upper floor and a similar window on the ground floor to the right of a 20th-century ledged door. The interior has not been inspected.
