Description
Cotmore Farmhouse is a farmhouse that originated in the 17th century, with an additional wing dated 1745 and further alterations made in the late 19th and 20th centuries. The building features square panelled timber-framing with painted brick infill and a later addition of painted sandstone rubble, topped with a tiled roof. It has a long range aligned from south-west to north-east, with a cross-wing at the north-east end, and includes both axial and gable-end stacks. The entrance is located on the south-east front. The structure is single storey with an attic, while the cross-wing is two storeys high. To the left, there is a later range with two gables; one gable has a 4-light casement window and the other has a 3-light casement window on the first floor, along with two 3-light casement windows on the ground floor next to a gabled porch. The cross-wing to the right features one 2-light and one 4-light window, and the main range has a 4-light window in a gabled dormer and two 16-pane windows on the ground floor. Inside, the farmhouse retains chamfered ceiling beams with ogee stops.
