Description
The Curl is a house dating from the 17th century, which has been extensively altered during the late 19th century. It features square panelled timber-framing with painted brick infill, a sandstone rubble plinth, and stacks with brick shafts, all topped by tiled roofs. The building consists of three framed bays aligned east to west, with axial and end stacks and an entrance on the south side. It has two storeys with a raised roofline, a pair of 2-light casement windows on the left, and two similar 2-light windows on the right. The central entrance is a ledged door with a shaped canopy, flanked by 2-light casement windows, and there is an additional ledged door to the right. The Curl is included for its group value.
