Description
Sherriff's Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the late 18th century or early 19th century. It is constructed of brick and has a tiled roof. The building is designed in an L-shape, with the main range aligned from south-west to north-east and a former service wing at the rear. It features a central entrance and stairwell, with end stacks. The farmhouse stands three storeys high and has a dentilled eaves cornice. It has three bays, with a central pediment that slightly projects forward, containing a bullseye window in the tympanum. The windows are three-light multi-paned casements with segmental heads, and there are narrower windows in the central bay. The central entrance has a pedimented door surround supported by Ionic pilasters, and the door itself is a six-panelled design with the upper two panels pierced and glazed. Inside, the farmhouse retains a fine staircase with a ramped handrail.
