Description
97 and 99 Etnam Street is a house that has been converted into cottages. It dates from the 17th century or earlier, with alterations made in the 18th century and later. The exterior is rendered and features painted brick, with a plain tile and gabled Welsh slate roof. There are brick lateral and axial stacks at the rear. The building has a T-shaped layout with a shallow bar extending to the left front. It is two storeys high and has a two-window range, featuring 20th-century casements and a 20th-century dormer on the right wing. The entrance to No. 99 is on the right, consisting of a 20th-century eight-panel door under a segmental arch. To the right of the entrance is a 20th-century sash window under a segmental arch, and to the left are three 20th-century casements. The left side of the building reveals 17th-century timber-framing, with a 20th-century door under a pentice hood covered with stone tiles and additional 20th-century casements. The rear wing is made of dressed sandstone and has a 20th-century casement window above a similar entrance. The interiors have not been inspected.
