Description
The White Lion Public House is a house that has been converted into an inn. It dates back to the 16th century, with a 19th-century addition. The building features a timber-frame and plaster construction, painted brick, and a Welsh slate roof with a small central gable. It has four brick stacks with paired chimneys.
The east front is two storeys high and has a three-window range, including 18th-century three-light casements and a 20th-century two-light casement on the right. The central entrance has a 20th-century glazed door, with a three-light casement to the right and two additional two-light casements. A moulded bressumer is supported by curved brackets over the entrance.
On the right side of the building, there is a loft door and a boarded opening beneath a prentice board leading to the gable. The left side features a tier of three-light casements and a shallow jetty on the first floor and gable. The rear of the building shows exposed timber-framing and has an outshut, along with a 19th-century rear wing and outshuts. The interior has not been inspected.
