Description
The double hop kiln, located about 5 yards east of The Buildings, dates from the mid-19th century. It is constructed of red brick and features a hipped slate roof with a vented ridge. Attached to the kiln is a store built of random rubble, also topped with a slate roof. The kiln consists of large paired structures with two mechanical fans in the roof facing north, which conceal a lean-to below. To the south, there is a gabled hoist-housing that is weather-boarded. The store room is lower in height and has doorways on each level to the west, with brick repairs visible on the south gable. This structure is part of a complete group of hop farm buildings from the early to mid-19th century.
