Description
The Post Office is a house and shop that dates from the 17th century or early 18th century, with alterations made in the mid-19th century. It features a timber-framed structure with a sandstone plinth and painted brick infill, topped by a Welsh slate roof. There is a later extension at the rear made of sandstone rubble. The building has four framed bays arranged in a north-east to south-west alignment, with the house at the north-east end and the shop at the south-west end, facing south-east. It has gable-end stacks and an entrance to the shop located in the south-west gable end, while the entrance to the house is toward the north-east of the center. The building is single storey with an attic, featuring three gabled half-dormer windows with 2-light leaded casement windows. To the left of the shop, there is one 3-light casement window, and flanking the entrance are canted bays with glazing bar sash windows, along with a gabled porch that has a part-glazed door.
