Description
The cowhouse and stables, located about 20 yards southwest of Bodenham Court Farmhouse, date from the 17th century but were rebuilt around 1833. The structure is made of coursed sandstone rubble and features a hipped corrugated metal roof. It is roughly five bays long and aligned north to south, with two levels.
On the main east elevation, there are three windows on the lower level and three loft openings with cambered heads. The second bay contains a door, the fourth bay has a stable door, and the fifth bay features a double doorway. External steps at the north end lead up to a loft door, which also has a cambered head.
Inside, the roof includes a sling-brace truss at the northern end. The south end wall is likely part of the original 17th-century building, as it is wider than the current structure and projects at each end. This building is situated next to Bodenham Court Farmhouse and is included for its group value.
