Description

BODENHAM CP BODENHAM SO 55 SW 5/18 Cowhouse and stables about 20 yards south- west of Bodenham Court Farmhouse GV II Cowhouse and stables. C17, rebuilt circa 1833. Coursed sandstone rubble with hipped corrugated metal roof. Roughly five bays aligned north/south. Two levels. Main east elevation: there are three windows on the lower level and three loft openings with cambered heads. There is a door in the second bay, a stable door in the fourth bay and a double doorway in the fifth bay. External steps at the north end lead up to a loft door with a cambered head. Interior: the roof has a sling-brace-truss at the northern end. The south end wall is probably part of the original C17 building as it it wider than the present building and projects at each end. The building is situated adjacent to Bodenham Court Farmhouse (qv). Included for group value.
