Description
The Hooper Monument is a chest tomb located about 3 yards south of the westernmost lancet of the south aisle of the Church of St George. It commemorates William Hooper, who died in 1820. The tomb is made of finely cut sandstone and features a moulded flat capping and corner pilasters with recessed trefoil-headed panels on the side faces. This monument is part of a group of four chest tombs, which also includes those for Barrett, Burrup, and John Wheeler.
