Description

This is a recumbent effigy located about 20 yards south of the south-east corner of the chancel of the Church of St Mary in Staunton-on-Wye. It dates from the early 14th century and is made of sandstone. The effigy depicts a woman in a long gown holding a heart, and it features an ogee foiled canopy above her head. The head was severed from the body at the time of the re-survey in September 1986.
