Description
Wyatt Farmhouse, incorporating a hop kiln, likely dates from the 17th or early 18th century, with later 19th-century additions. The west range is timber-framed with wattle and plaster infill panels, and a brick hop kiln is attached to its north end. The main and east ranges are rendered, featuring a large stack at their junction. The roofs are covered in plain tiles and slate. The house has an irregular plan, essentially of hall and cross-wing design, with the main range facing south. It is one storey high with attics. The south elevation has gabled ends and a 1:2:1 bay arrangement with late 19th-century and mid-20th century casement windows. Three ground-floor casements are beneath two raking-top half-dormers, and a 2-light late 19th-century casement is in the right gable front. An entrance is within a lean-to porch at the junction of the center and right parts. A small, single-storey, one-bay brick outbuilding is linked to the east side of the west range, and may have originally served as a detached kitchen or dairy.
