Description
This barn, located about 15 yards north-east of Catson, is likely from the late 17th century or early 18th century, with some later alterations. It features a timber-frame construction with weatherboards and a corrugated iron roof. The barn is composed of three structural bays arranged in a north-west to south-east orientation. The south-west elevation has weatherboarding that is partially concealed by a late 19th century sandstone rubble extension and a 20th century lean-to, which are not included in the listing. The frame consists of three square panels high from the cill to the wall-plate, and the interior showcases raking strut trusses. This barn is included for its group value, as Catson is situated in the parish of Little Dewchurch.
