Description
This building is an outbuilding, originally a wainhouse and now used as a garage, located about 60 yards west-south-west of Great Moorcourt Farmhouse. It likely dates from the late 18th century to the early 19th century. The structure is timber-framed and weatherboarded, topped with a hipped tiled roof. It consists of five bays arranged in a north/south orientation and is a single storey high. The west elevation features three windows, which are probably mid-20th century and consist of two lights each. There is an entry point at the north end. Inside, the building has frequent wall-posts and trusses made of thin wavy scantling. Each pegged truss includes angle struts connecting the post to the tie-beam, which supports V-struts leading to the principals. This outbuilding is part of the farm complex associated with Great Moorcourt Farmhouse.
