Description
The Unicorn Inn is a late 17th-century house that has been converted into an inn, with some repairs made in the mid-20th century. It features a timber-frame construction with rendered infill, sitting on a coursed rubble plinth beneath a slate roof. There is a rubble chimney stack on the east gable end. The south front has two storeys and an attic, which is illuminated by three gabled dormers. On the first floor, there are three cross-windows with plank weatherings above them. The entrance, located to the right of center, has a panelled door adorned with ornate strap hinges. The timber framing consists of six square panels in height. The gable-end truss includes four struts supporting the collar and V-struts at the apex. Inside, there is a 17th-century staircase featuring splat balusters.
