Description

Shepherds Cottage is likely an 18th-century cottage, with extensions added in the late 19th century and 20th century. It is timber-framed with plaster infill and has a thatched roof. An external stone end stack is located on the right, incorporating a bread oven and a detached brick shaft. The cottage originally comprised two bays, with a one-bay extension added to the right. It has one storey and an attic. The south elevation features two windows, with C19 iron casements in eyebrow dormers and C20 leaded casements on the ground floor. A C20 door is present in each of the left and right extensions. A semi-circular bread oven is located at the rear. The timber frame incorporates angle struts from the tops of posts to the wall-plate and V-struts from the collars to the principals. A C20 timber-framed extension is present on the left.
