Description

The building at 13 and 15 Drapers Lane comprises shops and dwellings, now used as offices and a residence. Its design incorporates an 18th-century front onto a 17th-century core, with later alterations. The exterior is painted brick with a composite tile roof. The structure is two storeys high with an attic, presenting a four-window facade. This features late 19th-century plain sash windows in moulded cases, set beneath segmental arches, with brick modillion eaves. Two 20th-century gable-dormers are present in the roof. A late 19th-century shop front has been introduced, featuring a recessed part-glazed panelled double door to the right and a 20th-century plank door to the left. Further 20th-century shop windows are visible, along with a moulded fascia-board and hood incorporating stop-consoles on panelled pilasters. A passageway to the left reveals original 17th-century timber framing. The interior has not been inspected. This building is of group value.
