2/37 Williams memorial about 15 metres north of north porch of Church of St Mary

GV II

Pedestal tomb. C18. Signed by R Millward. Ashlar. Cube on plinth, bold fluted balusters to coroners, moulded cornice, bevelled top to concave base of urn finial (broken off, lying at side of memorial). Inscription on south face: "Francis/ Son of Francis/ and Sibyl Williams/ Died August 14th 1767 Aged 9 months". Inscriptions on other faces. This is a good example of stone masonry and enhances the setting of the church; it contributes to the group value of the other memorials in the churchyard.
