Description
The Angel Inn is a public house dating from the 17th century, with early 19th-century enhancements and mid-20th-century alterations. It features a timber frame with rendered infill, primarily covered in painted brick with planted framing, and is topped with a slate roof. The building has an L-shape layout, consisting of three framed bays on the east side, a gable-end stack on the west, and a rear wing to the north. The south front is two storeys high and has four windows, all of which are 20th-century casements. The ground floor includes a carriage entrance on the right and three canted bay windows. To the left of the bay windows, there is an entrance with a hipped canopy and a 20th-century ledged and boarded door. The left-hand gable displays some exposed framing, featuring three square panels high with straight angle braces. The truss in this section has two struts to the collar and V-struts at the apex, along with trenched purlins. The building is included for its group value.
